Trill Exercise

This exercise is extremely simple, but also extremely effective if you do it daily. I do this one every time I pick up the guitar and noticed a marked improvement in my speed after a couple weeks. 

The key to this exercises is doing it regularly. Ensure that you are clearly articulating the notes.  To make it more difficult, try picking each note instead of using hammer-ons and pull-offs to trill.
